Cell Phone
Almost everyone in the US owns a cell phone - there are even those who own two or more of this contraption. Why is the mobile phone very popular? There are several answers to this question, among the top reasons is the many benefits that the phone can provide to the user. With a cell phone, the user has more flexibility, personality, and options than what the old telephone is capable of providing.
Consumers buy cellphones according to several factors.
Forms and Styles
The most common factors that affect the buyers' decision are the form and style of the phone. Some people would prefer a flip phone because of its shape and because the keys are protected from scratching on the surfaces of bags or jeans' pockets so that these have a longer lifetime. However, such a phone is also prone to breaking off through the hinges and might not be a good choice for heavy cell phone users.
Most consumers prefer the simple styles of the candy bar cell phone. Of course, there are many variations to this style and consumers are still able to choose from thousands of models with diverse features such as between QWERTY and the usual keypad, touch screen and the common screen, cameras with high resolution and VGAs, with camera and no camera, music versions and common ones, etc.
The consumer can also choose a cell phone with an LCD of clearer resolution and more colors or those that have a white or yellow background with minimal colors.
Applications and Accessories
The applications and accessories that come with the cell phone come second when it comes to consumer choices. However, these still play a significant role in the consumer's choice. More advanced features are generally sought by today's buyers who require phones with capabilities that go beyond the usual call and text features. Today's buyers usually need phones that have memory card slots which can allow upgrades when cards with higher memory become available.
Providers
When it comes to buying a cell phone, selecting a provider may be a second or third determining factor. Unlocked phones allow the consumer to choose which mobile network can provide the phone's power. However, a lot of consumers still choose to get a postpaid service rather than a prepaid phone because the former usually gives out free phones and allow the user to have uninterrupted phone service.
